Our Phalaenopsis has strong sustainability credentials
The ornamental plant sector has made huge strides with sustainable production. Levoplant is no exception. To save on fossil fuels, we obtain some of our heat for our operations from the ground. Roof-mounted solar panels meet some of our electricity requirements. The light to grow the plants in the darker months is obtained from LED lighting. We also use thermal mass for cooling and heating.
Recirculating water, minimizing chemicals
We circulate all water and reuse valuable nutrients. Using natural approaches, above and below the ground, enables us to stay on top of more and more diseases, without chemical assistance.
Replacing plastic with paper and cardboard
We are also committed to using less plastic at the sales stage, which includes using paper as the wrapping material for full carts. Levoplant has also developed a cardboard tray that is unique for its high load factor. 10 trays fit on one layer, enabling us to also reduce road miles.
